Another site within the comfortable 80 miles from home radius for a weekend trip. Site is situated round the other side of the loch about 2 miles from Arrochar village. Stopped off at the local chippy and met a couple of guys working in a hotel who had travelled over from Hungary in their T25. They were keen to look round the Pootle (the tour doesn’t take long!) and we had a look at their T25 covered with Hungarian vinyl lettering. Apparently the guys drove across a few days before – their trip took nearly 4 days.

Ardgarten campsite in Arrochar
Ardgarten is a Forest Holidays site and offers a discount to Forest Holiday Card holders and Caravan Camping Club members. The Camping Caravan Club definitely seems the better deal but they don’t do membership on site ? Site was quite nice but could be a midgie nightmare in the season. Saturday night on site and the majority of the site visitors went up to a wee meeting in one of the two unused buildings on the grounds. The majority of those camping that weekend were long stay/seasonal pitch holders and they were trying to turn the buildings into a social club.

Nursed the undiagnosed Pootle back home again on the Sunday afternoon via the rest and be thankfull. When will the sun start shining?
